Year-by-Year Β· FY2004–FY2026

2004–2008: The Outsourcing Boom

Y2K proved India's capabilities. Exports nearly tripled from $12.5 Bn to $40 Bn. Infosys, Wipro and TCS became global brand names. Tier-2 cities like Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai emerged as new tech hubs.

2009–2015: GFC Recovery & Maturity

2016–2020: Digital Wave & Disruption

Cloud, AI, and automation reshaped the industry. Traditional headcount-based models gave way to IP-led and platform delivery. Exports grew steadily to $149 Bn despite global uncertainty and automation anxiety.

2021–2026: Post-COVID Surge

Remote work validation triggered a hiring and deal supercycle. FY2022 saw 15%+ growth. GCCs exploded from 900 to 1,700+. Exports crossed $245 Bn in FY2024, making India the undisputed global IT services capital.
